Overturned Tractor Trailer Leaking Fuel Halts Traffic On BQE: FD
All westbound lanes on the highway were blocked at Flushing Avenue while emergency responders waited for a tow truck, officials said.
BROOKLYN, NY — A tractor trailer that tipped over on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Monday morning halted traffic on the highway, according to officials.
The tractor trailer tipped over on the westbound side of the highway near the Flushing Avenue exit just before 11 a.m., police said.
The driver got out of the truck and there were no injuries as of 11:50 a.m., according to the NYPD and FDNY.

The truck, which was leaking 100 gallons of fuel onto the street, closed down all westbound lanes on the highway while emergency responders worked to get it out of the way, according to the officials.
They were still waiting for a tow truck as of 11:50 a.m., an NYPD spokesperson said.
