Popular Acai Bowl Chain Opens First Brooklyn Shop In Bed-Stuy
The location, officially opened Wednesday, is one of two SoBol shops a group of Brooklyn business partners have planned for the borough.
BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A trio of Brooklyn business partners are bringing popular Acai bowl chain SoBol to the borough.
The first Brooklyn location of Long Island-based SoBol Cafe opened in Bed-Stuy on Wednesday, the first of two slated to open in the borough over the next year.
The franchise — which sells the smoothie bowls, regular smoothies and overnight oats — opened its doors at 531 Nostrand Ave., found near the Crown Heights border between Atlantic Avenue and Herkimer Street.

It will be headed by Ahmed Jerome, a Bed-Stuy native who opened the location with business partners Paul Roberson and Ainsworth Robinson.
“This is truly a full circle experience for me,” Jerome said “This is the very neighborhood I was raised, educated, launched my career and now opened a business and providing jobs in.”

The trio, who started a company called TAP N2 Acai Bowls Brooklyn to open the franchise, plan to open a second SoBol Cafe in Williamsburg next year.
SoBol was started in 2014 by Long Island native Jason Mazzarone. The chain also has locations in Queens and Staten Island.
SoBol's menu includes customizable, daily-blended acai bowls and smoothies with toppings including natural nut butters and heart healthy seeds. The ingredients are allergen friendly and contain no powder or syrups, according to the company.
