NEW YORK, NY — Brooklyn-based moped company Revel will expand into e-bike rentals next month, the company announced Tuesday.

The new e-bike service, called "Coast by Revel," will let New Yorkers sign up for a $99 per month subscription for a personal e-bike that will be delivered to their door.

The bikes are the latest expansion of the electric transportation company, which first launched its fleet of mopeds in North Brooklyn in 2018.

“Revel’s mission is to electrify cities and our eBike subscription program is the next piece of the puzzle,” Cofounder Frank Reig said. “We’re excited to give more New Yorkers the experience of eBike ownership without the hassles and to roll out our third product in our hometown.”

Riders in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan can join the waitlist for the bikes starting Tuesday by signing up on Revel's app and website, the company said. The bikes, manufactured by WING Bikes, will be available in early March.

The subscription includes a lock, a discount for a FEND bike helmet and education materials about local traffic laws, safe riding and how to avoid theft, the company said. Revel's staff will also be on call for service requests for bike maintenance, which they say will be answered within 24 hours.

The expansion into e-bikes comes as Revel plans a foray into another electric vehicle industry with a charging "superhub" that will open in Bushwick this spring.

The hub, set to open the spring on Flushing Avenue, will be the largest universal fast-charging depot in North America, according to the company. It will include 30 chargers for owners of any electric vehicle brand that will be open to the public 24/7.
