Debbie McClain, owner of Sankofa Aban Bed and Breakfast and Eric Lemons an accomplished string musician invite you to spend a magical evening of music. You will be taken behind the scene of an undercover live jazz experience for everyone. DebbieMc never set out to own a BnB, but once she did magic happened. A hairstylist by trade when her grandparents 1939 home fell into her lap to save and maintain. Much bad energy once filled the property, and she knew that music would cleanse this 19TBed-Stuyh century home.
Debbie also once a long time piano student, along with experience in presenting and producing music is one of now a 6 generational family of music lovers. She welcomes sharing the beautiful architecture home from Brooklyn begone. Eric Lemons having played and recorded with many famous artist is very familiar with show-business.
Eric started his musical ambitions from the early age of thirteen. He is studied, and certified to teach the art of jazz to children and adults in NYC . Being well versed in the world of jazz allows him to welcomed the opportunity of hosting a venue, Brownstone Jazz where he can share real life jazz experiences an audience without censor.
Continuing with the history of Bed-Stuy, a group of jazz locals and broadway greats like Blue Note recording artist James Spaulding, Trombonist/Euphonist Kiane Zawadi, vocalist Keisha St. James aside actress/singer Boncellia Lewis, Greg Bandy and Bobby Sanabria has re-connected the music in a tradition that's diminished, but clearly hasn't ended.
