St. George's Episcopal Church celebrates 150 years in BedStuy

St. George's Episcopal Church will pause to give thanks and celebrate its 150th Church Anniversary on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10: 00 am. Our theme for this glorious event is "Rooted in Faith - Honoring Our Legacy."

Since 1869, St. George's has been a fixture in Bedford Stuyvesant. The "red church on the corner" today serves the community in various ways like Community Breakfast, Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry, Prayer Services, Health Programs, Homeless Services and more.

The Very Rev Canon Glenworth D. Miles, the current Rector states "It’s our year to celebrate our sesquicentennial of faithful years of witness, ministry and mission to Christ, Church and Community as we give thanks to God for His steadfast love, grace and mercy over these many years, and look to Him as our hope for years to come."

We welcome former and current members as well as the community to come celebrate this auspicious occasion. Come home to St. George's!!
