Tincture Bar Brings Herby Cocktails And Vegan Brunch To Bed-Stuy

Tatanka's Tea and Tincture Bar on Classon Avenue and Fulton street will host a soft opening vegan brunch this weekend.

BEDFORD STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A new café coming to Bed-Stuy wants to help you drink the tinctured way.

Tatanka's Tea And Tincture Bar on Classon Avenue and Fulton Street will open its doors to the public this weekend for a soft opening pop-up brunch co-hosted by B.A.D. Gyal Vegan, according to a Facebook announcement.

The new Bed-Stuy eatery purports to be the world's first tincture bar and will feature boozy extractions from herbs and flowers sourced from local community gardens, owner Katherine Pfohl told Community Board 3 when applying for her liquor license.

Tatanka's is taking over the former home of Lion's Den, a Caribbean fusion eatery that first opened its doors in 2015, DNAinfo reported at the time.

The tincture bar will operate as a café in the day time (hours are 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.) but will also feature live music and a full bar at night, city records show.

Tatanka's and cafe is slated to open with an official grand opening party on Sept. 27 at 8 p.m., according to an Eventbrite invitation.

"Join us for the unveiling of a new concept," the invitation reads, "where conscious consumption is a next level enlightening experience."

But Brooklynites looking for a sneak pick with $50 bucks to throw down for brunch can head to the café Saturday and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for Caribbean-inspired vegan fare such as cornmeal porridge, ackee spring rolls and jerk wings and waffles.

Organizers on Facebook promised it's going to be a "Brunch With The Baddest."
