WATCH: Bed-Stuy Eatery Featured On 'The Tonight Show'
Grandchamps was one of five New York City eateries chosen by the Tonight Show to receive a $20,000 check through a partnership with Google.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Brooklynites tuning into "The Tonight Show" earlier this week might have noticed some familiar faces before the show's first commercial break.
After a "we'll be right back" from host Jimmy Fallon, scenes of customers enjoying dinner and a show at Bed-Stuy's own Grandchamps appeared on the screen.
Soon, owners Sabrina and Shawn Brockman, along with their two kids, are seen waving and smiling through masks at the camera.

"Offering great food and culture, Grandchamps is not just a restaurant but a safe and inclusive platform for building community," words on the screen read. "The pandemic has helped them to better understand role small businesses can play in supporting communities and making a positive change in the world."
The quick shout-out to the local restaurant came after Grandchamps was one of five New York City eateries chosen for a feature on the show as part of National Small Business Week.

The popular late-night talk show partnered with Google's Grow with Google program to offer the five restaurants $20,000 each and a feature on the show. Grow with Google offers training on digital tools for small businesses.
"We were obviously excited, surprised and quite frankly honored to be recognized for working really hard the past few months to stay open and serve the community," Sabrina Brockman told Patch about learning she'd be on the show.
Organizers of the Tonight Show and Google partnership told Brockman that they had searched for businesses that supported their communities during the coronavirus pandemic.
Along with Lakou Cafe, another Brooklyn restaurant featured on the show, Grandchamps had raised $10,000 in May to help give more than 2,200 people snacks and meals at the height of the pandemic. The two eateries then partnered with World Central Kitchen to provide more than 11,000 meals to healthcare workers, first responders, protesters and families.
"Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses are finding ways to adapt and support their local communities — especially right here in New York, the city that thousands of Googlers and I call home," Grow with Google's Director Jesse Haines said about the partnership. "And who better to take us for a tour of a few beloved New York spots than “The Tonight Show” host and native New Yorker, Jimmy Fallon?
The New York City spots Google and Fallon got to know also included Manhattan's GupShup, Nuyorican Poets Cafe and Paris Blues Jazz Club.
On the show, Fallon and members of The Roots dined at GupShup and talked with its owner about his time working through the pandemic.
Grandchamps is a Haitian restaurant with a location at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and on Patchen Avenue in Bed-Stuy.
