WATCH: Brooklyn Water Main Breaks, Turns Pennsylvania Ave Into Niagara Falls
Right around rush hour.

The 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, a main roadway in Brooklyn that runs along on the border of the Starrett City and New Lots neighborhoods, was shut off to traffic during rush hour on Friday afternoon.
Why? Because a 20-inch water main had burst through the sidewalk in front of the Spring Creek Towers, obviously.
Witnesses said online that the water appeared to be shooting at least five stories, or 50 feet, into the air.

The broken main’s water flow has since been shut off by the city, NY1 reports.
However, the street has remained closed off into the evening while crews patch the break.

Traffic is snarled throughout the area. And according to the MTA, the westbound B32 bus and eastbound B103 bus are being rerouted around the disaster site.
