2nd Driver ID'd In Bedford Head-On Collision

BEDFORD, NY — Police released the name of the second driver involved in a deadly motor vehicle collision Monday. The crash occurred on South Bedford Road near Darlington around 9:20 p.m.

Police said two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.

The driver of a 2004 Acura TSX — Diego Trejo, 22, of Pound Ridge — was pronounced dead at the scene. Trejo's dog, Lily, was also killed in the collision.

The operator of the second vehicle, a 2018 BMW 750I, was identified as Robert Schuster, 51, of Bedford.

He was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said, as of this latest update, charges have not been filed. They said it's an active investigation which is still in its early stages. Witnesses are being interviewed and evidence collected.
