3 Accused Of Stealing Car From Connecticut
Troopers tried to initiate a traffic stop but said the driver led them on a high-speed chase.
BEDFORD, NY — A traffic stop on Interstate 684 led to a two-county high-speed chase that resulted in the arrests of three people.
The New York State Police said Richard W. Holmes Jr., 22, and Moesha Gordon, 24, both of Waterbury, Connecticut, and Rayvon Holmes, 20, of Bellport, were accused of stealing a car in Connecticut.
Police said, shortly after 10 p.m. Feb. 3, troopers tried to stop a 2015 Kia Forte for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on I-684 in the town of Bedford.

Richard Holmes, who was the driver, failed to stop and led the troopers north on a pursuit that reached speeds in excess of 120 mph, police said.
During the chase, police found that the car was reported stolen out of North Haven, Connecticut.

Authorities placed spike strips on Route 22 in the area of Thunder Ridge, and the car became completely disabled miles away on Route 55 near Dorn Road in the town of Beekman.
Richard Holmes and his two passengers, Gordon and Rayvon Holmes, were taken into custody without further incident.
All three were charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies.
Richard Holmes was additionally charged with third-degree fleeing an officer and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.
The trio was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court and released on their own recognizance.
