Bedford Coronavirus Test Drive-Thru Facility Winding Down
It'll be open to all Bedford, Mount Kisco, Lewisboro and Pound Ridge residents Saturday and Tuesday.
BEDFORD, NY — Officials are winding down the drive-through coronavirus testing facility at the Bedford Hills train station.
The final days of operation will be Saturday and Tuesday for the test center, which is open to all residents of Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco and Pound Ridge who want to be tested for new coronavirus.
Since it was opened, more than 1,700 residents in Bedford, Mt. Kisco, Lewisboro and Pound Ridge have come through the facility, opened to answer a need for testing capacity in northern Westchester County.

"Since that time, there has been a vast decrease in the number testing positive (few to none within the last several testing weeks) and a significant increase in testing capacity throughout the area," said Bedford Town Supervisor Chris Burdick in his weekly COVID-19 update. "Thank you to the many volunteers who have devoted their time at the facility and to those generous members of the community who donated lunches for the crew."
Hours Saturday are 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.

A doctor's referral is not necessary.
This is a diagnostic test using a nasal swab, Bedford town officials reminded residents. It tests for the presence of active coronavirus. It does not test for the presence of antibodies. The antibody test will detect antibodies if you previously had the virus, but it does not test for an active virus.
All four towns are sharing in the services, such as police coverage, which are needed for the operation of the test center.
Bedford officials warned that it may be difficult to register. "If you wish to use the facility, try to register at https://coronatestct.com/. You will need to provide certain information including insurance, but you will be able to utilize the facility if you do not have insurance."
The town newsletter offered alternatives for testing once the facility at the train station ceases operations.
