Bedford Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Crime Against Girl
He is scheduled to be sentenced next year for the crime that happened in 2018.
BEDFORD, NY — A Bedford man admitted his guilt in committing a sex crime against a girl under the age of 13. Julio Cortez, 40, of Bedford, pleaded guilty Oct. 31 to felony first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.
Cortez is being held at the Westchester County Jail and will be sentenced Jan. 10, the Journal News reported.
He was initially charged with second-degree rape, a felony.

Police received a call Oct. 7, 2018, from a young girl who said a classmate was allegedly being sexually abused by a neighbor.
An investigation by the Bedford police led to the arrest of Cortez.
