Bedford Playhouse Announces Live Music Series

The monthly series will feature live acoustic guitar or piano jazz with performers from the community.

BEDFORD, NY — The Bedford Playhouse announced a new series of live music the schedule of which is easy to remember. First Fridays premieres at 6 p.m. Jan. 4 and will feature live acoustic guitar or piano jazz with performers from the community.

Beginning the series will be Josh Karas who will be performing an evening of upbeat jazz standards and pop songs on the piano.

The two-hour program, in which the public can enjoy a drink and bite, will be held at the Bedford Playhouse Cafe, 633 Old Post Road in Bedford.

Karas is a Fox Lane High School graduate, studying piano as a freshman at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music in Nashville, Tennessee.

He's been playing for 13 years and has worked in a variety of genres including classical, pop, rock and jazz.

Karas has performed with the Fox Lane Jazz Quartet, his own jam band Kris and The Commoners, an all-male a capella group.
