Boston Globe: Bedford 'Worth the Trip'

Bedford residents know their bucolic town is full of worthwhile historical, recreational and cultural activities—now Boston residents know it, too.

The Boston Globe this week featured Bedford and its three hamlets as a featured weekend travel destination in the paper's Lifestyle section, and noted the "entire town is a popular tourist destination for couples and families, with the occasional celebrity spotting."

The story notes the town's few lodging options, and recommends The Bedford Post Inn and nearby Crabtree's Kittle House Inn and The Holiday Inn as places to stay.

For dining, the Globe's travel writer points to wide-ranging options, from The Wooden Nickel's bacon-egg-and-cheese on a roll to organic fare at to finer-dining prepared at the The Meetinghouse Food and Spirits.

Bedford's many cultural destinations were touted as places to visit during the day—such as John Jay Homestead and the Katonah Museum—as were specialty shops and boutiques like Kelloggs & Lawrence and Consider the Cook.
