Coronavirus Vaccine Won't Be 100% Effective, Fauci Fears: [POLL]

About one-third of Americans won't avail themselves of a coronavirus vaccine. Will you take it when it is released to the public?

NEW YORK — With more than 145 vaccines being developed around the world, the million dollar question is how long before something is proven safe and effective against the new coronavirus. Vaccines usually take years before being ready for the public, after research, testing, failures and successes.

Another company — Zydus Cadila of India — announced Friday approval to start human trials of its vaccine.

Unfortunately, a poll by CNN found that only two-thirds of Americans would take the vaccine if it were available.

Those aren't good enough odds to reach herd immunity — when enough people are immune to the disease to prevent person-to-person spread — Fauci fears.

He said the combination of anti-science, anti-authority and anti-vaccine rules an alarmingly large number of people and would hinder the efficacy of a vaccine, the Guardian reported.
