Crash On Route 172 Kills 1: Bedford Police

BEDFORD, NY — A Pound Ridge resident died Monday night after a car crash involving two vehicles on Route 172. Police were called to South Bedford Road near Darlington at 9:20 p.m.

Police believe a 2018 BMW 750I traveling east collided head on with a 2004 Acura TSX sedan headed westbound. The operator of the Acura, a 22-year-old man identified as Diego Trejo, died at the scene.

The operator of the BMW, a 51-year-old man, was transported to Westchester County Medical
Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The Bedford Police Department was assisted by the Bedford Fire Department, Bedford Hills Fire Department, and Westchester EMS.

The accident is still under investigation by the Bedford Police Accident Investigation team, and further information will be provided when it is available.
