Flood Advisories Issued For Parts Of Hudson Valley

The advisories were issued because of heavy rainfall from thunderstorms.

Flood advisories have been issued for parts of the Hudson Valley. The National Weather Service said one advisory, which is in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday, is for southern Westchester County.

Heavy rain due to thunderstorms will cause urban and small stream flooding in the area.

Up to 1 inch of rain has already fallen as of 7 p.m., the NWS said.

A second flood advisory is in effect until 8:30 p.m. Thursday for Orange, Rockland and northern Westchester counties.

Likewise, the cause is heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen.
