Memorial Day Parades Planned Across Bedford

Parades will be held in all three of the town's hamlets.

BEDFORD, NY - Memorial Day parades will be held in all three of the town's hamlets on Monday, May 29.

The first parade will take place in Bedford Hills, beginning at 9 a.m. in front of Bedford Hills Elementary School. The parade will go along Babbitt Road, Church Street and stop on Main Street in front of the firehouse, where a ceremony will be held. The Bedford Hills Fire Department and the Bedford Hills Lions Club are the sponsors.

The second parade will take place in Katonah, beginning at 10 a.m. in front of the firehouse. The parade will go down Katonah Avenue, turn up Parkway and conclude at Lawrence Circle, where a ceremony will be held. Katonah's parade is being sponsored by Katonah American Legion Post 1575 and the Katonah Fire Department.

Katonah's Legion chapter will also hold a town picnic, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its hall, which is located at 136 Jay St.

The third and final parade will take place in Bedford Village, beginning at approximately 11:15 a.m. It will start at the corner of Pound Ridge Road (Route 172) and Seminary Road, and then proceed along Pound Ridge Road before concluding at the Village Green, where a ceremony will be held. The Bedford Village parade is being sponsored by the Bedford Fire Department and the Bedford Village Lions Club.
