Mid-Hudson Region's Vaccination Rate On Par With State
The latest numbers from the state show almost 3 million New Yorkers have received one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — As of Monday, almost 3 million New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
According to the state's COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker, 2,954,858 state residents received at least one dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines — or 14.8 percent of the population.
According to the state, the Mid-Hudson region, which is comprised of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan counties, has seen 333,281 people receive at least one dose of a vaccine — or 14.4 percent. Slightly more than 8 percent of the population has completed both doses — or 188,625 people.

Here are the percentages in each county of people who have received at least one dose, as of Monday:
- Westchester: 16.6 percent
- Putnam: 14.5 percent
- Rockland: 14.5 percent
- Ulster: 14.2 percent
- Dutchess: 13.1 percent
- Orange: 10 percent
- Sullivan: 11 percent
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that the New York State Clinical Advisory Task Force unanimously recommended the use of Janssen Pharmaceuticals/Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine in the state.

This follows the federal Food and Drug Administration's advisory committee's recommendation for emergency use authorization.
Cuomo said in a news release that the state is expecting to receive about 164,800 doses of the new one-shot vaccine this week, pending final FDA authorization.
The added doses will supplement New York State's expected Week 12 supply of 422,780 first doses and 290,500 second doses from Pfizer and Moderna. That brings the total of doses to approximately 878,080.
