Most Popular Super Bowl Snack In New York

The most searched Super Bowl snack depends on where you live. What will you be eating during the big game?

The 54th Super Bowl is coming up soon and many people are making plans to watch the San Francisco 49ers face the Kansas City Chiefs. The big question, at least before the game starts, is what snacks to serve.

There are plenty of goodies to consider, and Digital Third Coast analyzed Google Trends data and found the most popular snack to eat during the Super Bowl for every state and major city — based on the number of Google searches.

For New York, the most searched Super Bowl snack was loaded potato skins.

Nationally, the cocktail weenie was No. 1 in 11 states, with buffalo chicken dip coming in second in six states, primarily in the southwest.

Overall, dips were the most popular food or snack in 20 states, with the seven layer dip inching out a win over buffalo chicken dip seven to six. In fact, seven layer dip was the top search for New York City.

Who ordered the wings? Garlic parmesan wings were most popular in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, while barbecue wings were tops in Montana and baked hot wings were No. 1 in Wyoming.

So where are all these snacks being consumed? A plurality of people will be watching the game at home — 43 percent. Thirty-six percent will be going to a party and 15 percent are hosting a party.

Only 7 percent will be watching the game at bar or restaurant.
