MTA Announces Labor Day Weekend Service Changes
Are you getting away early for the weekend? MTA has you covered.

To help New Yorkers kick off a long Labor Day weekend and enjoy the unofficial end of summer, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will provide extra service Friday, Aug. 30, and suspend lane closures at its bridges and tunnels for the whole weekend. All MTA services will operate on special schedules on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.
Details about the special service will be available in real time for customers using the MYmta app and MTA.info website.

On Friday, Aug. 30, Metro-North Railroad will offer 17 extra afternoon trains departing Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and two extra departures from Hoboken Terminal, on the Port Jervis Line and Pascack Valley Line. Some early-evening peak trains departing from Grand Central Terminal and Hoboken Terminal will be canceled or combined to allow the railroad to operate the earlier trains and in anticipation of reduced ridership during the later period. For details, customers should visit the MYmta app or MTA.info website.
