North Salem School District Public Budget Hearing On Wednesday
Voters will have their say on the district's planned $45,914,756 spending package for 2021-2022 May 18, when the budget is on the ballot.

NORTH SALEM, NY — The final public hearing on the proposed 2021-22 budget for the North Salem School District will be held Wednesday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting will detail the spending plan for the upcoming school year. The proposed budget is $45,914,756, with a 2.11 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package.
School officials said the tax levy will increase by 1.26 percent if the budget is approved by voters later this month.

There are a total of two school trustee seats to be filled for three-year terms. A Meet the Candidates meeting will be held on May 10 at 7 p.m. in the MS/HS library.

Voters will also be asked to vote on a second proposition regarding funding for a $6.9 million athletic fields improvement project, which will include a new synthetic turf field on the MS/HS campus, field lighting, netting, score board and bleachers. The project calls for four unisex restrooms and improvements to Tompkins Field.
The annual budget vote and board election will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 18 at Pequenakonck Elementary School, in the gymnasium.
