Rain, Thunderstorms Forecast for Hudson Valley Thursday

There is a chance of rain overnight Wednesday, but Thursday the rain will come in earnest.

Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said the scattered shower threat will increase toward might Wednesday and scattered showers will continue into Thursday’s morning commute.

“Steadier and heavier rain moves in by later morning on Thursday,” he said. “Expect periods of moderate to heavy rain Thursday afternoon, as a real soaker is shaping up.”

For the Hudson Valley, the National Weather Service is calling for an overnight low in the low-40s with a chance of showers.

Showers can be expected by noon Thursday, with possibility of thunderstorms in the early part of the afternoon and showers afterward.

The high Thursday will be near 59.

New precipitation amounts will be between one-half and three-quarters of an inch.

Showers are likely Thursday night into Friday.
