Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Parts Of Hudson Valley

Meteorologists said that damage to trees and power lines can be expected.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for parts of the Hudson Valley. The National Weather Service said the warning is in effect for southeastern Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties until 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Shortly before 8 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near New Windsor to near Vernon Valley, moving east at 70 mph.

  • HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
  • SOURCE...Radar indicated.
  • IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building, the weather service said.
