Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Parts Of Hudson Valley
Rainfall rates of 1 inch per hour or more are possible.

With the remnants of Barry heading toward the Hudson Valley, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the region. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.
A flash flood watch had previously been issued for southern Westchester and Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties.
The NWS expanded the flash flood watch to include Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties through late Wednesday.

Rainfall totals are expected to range between 1 and 2 inches with locally higher amounts. Rainfall rates of 1 inch per hour or more are possible.
