Snowfall Estimates For Wednesday's Storm In Hudson Valley

Snow is once again in the forecast for this week and the next instance is expected to occur Wednesday. The National Weather Service is calling for a 30 percent chance of snow Wednesday for Westchester County, with snow likely mainly before midnight.

The percentage chance goes up slightly for Rockland and mid-Hudson Valley.

Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said the storm is shaping up to be very cold, but not moisture-rich.

"[W]e will be able to squeeze out a decent snowfall despite the lack of available moisture," they said. "At this point a general 2-5 inch snowfall across the majority of the region look likely."

And it that weren't enough, at this point, both the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes will be affected.

Here a look at the northern Westchester forecast from the NWS:

• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 12. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. Northwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
• Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of snow after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 26. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the morning.
• Wednesday Night: Snow likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 25. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
• Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36. North wind around 5 mph.
• Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
• Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.
• Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.
