T-storms, Flooding Possible To Start Work Week: HV Weather
The region faces the possibility of severe weather before cooler temps take over.
With the heat wave behind us, the Hudson Valley now faces a day with potentially heavy rain and thunderstorms before we can get to the cooler weather. The National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlooks for the region, plus a flash flood warning for good measure.
For the mid-Hudson Valley, the NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties for Monday.
Widespread rain with isolated thunderstorms is expected today and tonight. The region is in a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds are the main threat. Periods of heavy rain are possible which may result in ponding of water and flooding of small streams, urban and poor drainage areas. An isolated flash flood is possible.

The lower Hudson Valley's hazardous weather outlook is in effect for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
