19 LIRR Trains Canceled For Evening Commute
BREAKING: The LIRR is blaming signal trouble.

It's going to be a hellish commute home for Long Island Rail Road riders Tuesday evening. The LIRR has canceled 19 trains "due to signal trouble in West Side Yard adjacent to Penn Station."

- Westbound service between Jamaica and Penn and Woodside and Penn (on the Port Washington Branch) is suspended.
- All eastbound Oyster Bay Branch trains will all stop at Mineola.
- All eastbound Port Jefferson/Huntington trains will make all local stops between Hicksville and Huntington.
- All eastbound Montauk trains will stop at Babylon.
- All eastbound Long Beach trains will stop at Valley Stream.
NYC Transit is cross-honoring fares at Penn Station (34th Street), Forest Hills (71st Avenue), Kew Gardens (Union Turnpike) and Jamaica (Sutphin/Archer) on the E train; and at Woodside (61st Street) on the 7 train. Customers traveling to Hempstead, Long Beach, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead are advised to take downtown 2/3 subway service to Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn for eastbound LIRR service to those branches.
