'Sadness' As Merrick's The Vine Wine Bar To Close After Decade

The bar owner said in a Facebook post that a new lease was "just not possible."

MERRICK, NY — A popular nightspot for meeting people and enjoying wines is shutting its doors.

The Vine Wine Bar on Merrick Road is closing after 11 years at its location. The owner, Lynn Mione, although she declined an interview with Patch, did give some thoughts on her Facebook page.

She thanked each and everyone who joined them on the journey, sharing "so many special occasions" and "we even weathered the pandemic together," Mione wrote.

The bar will close next week; a decision to sign a new lease Mione said, "was just not possible at this time."

On their website, The Fine Wine Bar points out they have more than 125 varieties of wine on the menu.

"My mom used to say 'all good things must come to an end.' This was beyond good. It was amazing. Thanks to all of you!" Mione wrote.
