Bellmore Honors Students, Staff at Ceremony
Board celebrates achievements of students, acknowledges retirement of staff members and grants tenure.
It was a night of ceremony and recognition in the Bellmore School District on June 16, as the Board of Education celebrated the achievements of students, acknowledged the retirement of beloved staff members and granted tenure.
During the student recognition ceremony, students at Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center, Winthrop Avenue School and Shore Road School were awarded for their achievements in school service and other academic and musical accomplishments.
Following the student recognitions, the Board honored six retiring teachers Kathryn Fay (Reinhard physical education teacher, 40 years), Kathy Filippelli (Reinhard/Winthrop ESL teacher, 26 years), Ivy Lowy (Winthrop teacher, 33 years), Kathleen Marks (Winthrop teacher, 29 years), Eric O’Brien (Shore Road teacher, 21 years) and Edria Parks (Reinhard special education teacher, 31 years) and awarded tenure to Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center Principal Patricia Castine and district special education teacher Danielle Argento.

To conclude the evening of ceremony, Board Vice President Jay L.T. Breakstone recognized President Janet Goller for year of service as president of the Board.
