Calhoun Boys Soccer Crowned County Champs

BREAKING: They defeated Massapequa 1-0 to secure their title. Now they'll go for the Long Island championship.

Sanford H. Calhoun High School’s boys soccer team captured the Class AA Nassau County Championship on Wednesday.

After securing a 1-0 win in overtime against Massapequa High School, the boys will continue to the Long Island championships soon.

Coach James Cantley said he was proud of the special group of young men he leads.

“There is a real feeling of family and they have huge hearts,” he said. “They really believe in themselves and it shows on the soccer field. Tonight's game was a tough, physical contest and the boys rose to the occasion.”
