BELLMORE, NY — A vehicle on fire Monday morning closed westbound lanes on the Southern State Parkway from Exit 25 (Newbridge Road) to Exit 24 (Merrick Avenue).

A photo from the state DOT traffic camera showed a thick plume of smoke in the foreground as a long line of drivers wait for it to get cleared.
