Crimes Nearby Part I: Assault at Calhoun HS, Prostitution Arrest

Recent criminal activity reported in Merrick and East Meadow.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime. 

East Meadow

  • On June 8, a 23-year old Connecticut woman was arrested after she allegedly offered to perform a sexual act to an undercover detective for an agreed amount of money. For more details, click here.
Merrick 
  • A GPS and coins were removed from an unlocked vehicle on Nancy Boulevard on June 5. 
  • On June 8, tires were slashed on multiple vehicles at Limousines by Michael on Washington Drive. 
  • An unknown suspect damaged a vehicle parked at BP Gas Station on Merrick Road and stole power tools on June 8.
  • On June 10, an unknown suspect broke the window of a vehicle parked on Dobson Avenue and attempted to steal a leaf blower. When the owner of the car approached the suspect, he fled on foot.
  • Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Dunkin Donuts on 56 Sunrise Highway in the early morning hours of June 11. For more information, click here.
