Crimes Nearby Part I: Man Stabbed with Scissors, Couple Charged with Fraud

East Meadow

• An East Meadow woman was arrested on May 28 after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a pair of scissors in Mineola, police said. For more details, click here.
• An East Meadow man was one of 12 people charged on May 30 with public assistance fraud, according to the district attorney's office. For more information, click here.

Merrick

• On May 21, a vehicle parked on Wesley Avenue in North Merrick had its window broken.
• On May 26, George Barrera, 37, of Bellmore was arrested near the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Merrick Avenue and charged with driving while intoxicated as well as three vehicle and traffic law violations.
