Crimes Nearby Part II: Theft from Car, Tires Stolen
Recent criminal activity reported for Merrick and East Meadow.
The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.
Merrick
- Sometime between May 28 and May 29, an unknown suspect stole cash and jewelry from a car parked on Merrick Road.
- On May 30, it was reported that the glass front door of Store Front on Sunrise Highway was broken.
- Sometime between May 30 and May 31, tires were removed from a vehicle parked on Marlboro Street. The car was left on cement blocks.
- An unknown person entered Woodland Middle School through an open cafeteria window on June 1. No property was stolen or damaged.
- Eric Engvaldsen, 48, of East Meadow was charged and arrested for public assistance fraud, according to the district attorney's office.
