JFK Boys Volleyball Continues Domination

Cougars win in straight sets for sixth county title in eight seasons.

The John F. Kennedy Cougars boys volleyball team defeated Jericho to win the Nassau County Class B title, their sixth championship in the past eight years.

The Cougars won in straight sets, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.

“There was a great crowd cheering for the team … that definitely made the gym feel like it belonged to the Cougar Nation,” Principal Lorraine Poppe said.

Michael Ianniello was named the tournament’s most valuable player, Harrison Ivers was named all-county tournament honorable mention and Jonah Zeitlin and Josh Levine were named to the all-county tournament team. Other team members include Tyler Anderson, Dylan Judd, Josh Kaplan, Mitchell Mass, Steve Carlson, Jordan Kappel, Garrett Krassner, Jeff Lowell, Owen Bradley, Shawn Linzer, Evan Rothchild, Peter Cuttitta, Harrison Marcus and Jonah Zeitlin.
