Merrick Schools Holding Meetings To Discuss Reopening Plans

Parents can join the meetings to discuss reopening plans and how the district will keep students safe.

MERRICK, NY — The Merrick school districts are holding meetings this week to discuss its reopening plans with parents.

When Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that schools will be able to open in the fall, he also mandated that school districts have meetings to discuss the plans with parents. The schools were required to have at least three meetings, either in person or online, before Aug. 21.

"It can be online, however it works for the local school district, but they have to communicate with the parents and explain the plan and answer the questions of the parents," Cuomo said.
