Nassau Scout Leader Sexually Abused Boy Multiple Times: Police
Police say the man used Boy Scout trips to abuse his victim, a 12-year-old boy.

Nassau County Police arrested a Boy Scout leader whom they say sexually abused a child on multiple occasions.
According to police, Jonathan Spohrer, 26, of Bedford Avenue, North Bellmore, sexually abused a 12-year-old boy multiple times at different Scouting functions. Police say the abuse took place on multiple occasions between January and November 2018. The abuse took place at Boy Scout trips and meetings that occurred in Bellmore, Huntington and Putnam Valley, police said.
After an extensive investigation, police arrested Spohrer at his home on Oct. 31 without incident.

He is charged with second-degree cours of sexual conduct against a child. He was arraigned on Friday, Nov. 1 in First District Court in Hempstead.
