Nassau Woman Tried To Steal Officer's Gun: Police
Police say they were investigating a domestic disturbance when the woman became combative with officers.
BELLMORE, NY — Nassau County police arrested a Bellmore woman Wednesday night after they say she became combative with officers and tried to steal one of their guns.
According to police, officers were called for a domestic disturbance at a home on Briggs Street at 9:30 p.m. While they were investigating, police say they were confronted by 46-year-old Erica Carlson, who got mad at the officers and made several threats to harm them.
When the officers tried to place her under arrest, police say she started to struggle, punching and scratching an officer while trying to take their gun from their holster. She was eventually placed under arrest.

The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries to their hand. Carlson was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Carlson is charged with third-degree robbery (attempt), second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. She is scheduled to be arraigned on May 28.
