North Bellmore FD Holding 2 Life-Saving Events This Month

The department will be hosting opioid overdose training and a blood drive, both of which can help save lives.

The North Bellmore Fire Department is holding two important, life-saving events that are open to the community.

On June 26, the department will be holding an opioid overdose and Nalaxone training session. Participants will learn the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the life-saving drug Nalaxone, which can reverse the effects of an overdose.

The training session will be held at the North Bellmore Fire Department Company No. 1 building, located at 1550 Newbridge Road, at 6:30 p.m.

Then, on June 27, the dpeartment will be holding a blood drive from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Station No. 2, located at 829 Newbridge Road.

The drive will help to address the ongoing blood shortage in the area. It takes only a few minutes to donate a pint of blood, and it could save someone's life.
