Summer Recreation at Newbridge Road Park

Join us at Newbridge Road Park for a summer of fun! Our recreation offers several programs and special events for all ages to enjoy. The programs run from June 29th through August 14th. Registration will take place starting on June 22nd at 9:00 am in the recreation office and will continue for the rest of the week.

Archery is open to children ages 8-14. Targets, bows, and arrows are provided for participants. Hand guards are available but participants may choose to bring their own. Archery is held on Tuesdays and Thursday. The 8-10 year old class will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am. The 11-14 year old class will be held 11:00 to 12:00 pm. There are no fees for archery.

Arts & Crafts is open to children ages 5-12. All supplies are provided. Instructors may request items such as card board tubes or other items to upcycle. Arts & Crafts is held on Mondays and Wednesdays. The 5-7 year old class will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 am. The 8-12 year old class will be held 11:00 to 11:45 pm. There are no fees for arts & crafts.

Cheerleading is open to children ages 5-16. Cheerleading is held on Mondays and Wednesdays. The 5-7 year old classes or Mascots will be held from 11:00 to 11:30 am. The 8-11 year old class or Juniors will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. The 12-16 year old class or Seniors will be held from 2:45 to 5:00 pm. Cheerleading and Kickline will end with a competition and exhibition that will be held on August 14th at 6:30 pm at the Hofstra sports complex. Children participating in the Hofstra show must pay a uniform fee of $25. This includes a top and bottom for the day of the show. (Uniforms are the same for both Cheer & Kickline for each age group.) Newbridge also charges an additional $10 for hair bows and other accessories as well as a party at the end of the program.

Kickline (dance team) is open to children ages 8-16. Kickline is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The 8-11 year old class or Juniors will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. The 12-16 year old class or Seniors will be held from 2:45 to 5:00 pm. Cheerleading and Kickline will end with a competition and exhibition that will be held on August 14th at 6:30 pm at the Hofstra sports complex. Street Hockey is open to children ages 5-13. Sticks and pads are provided. Street Hockey is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The 5-8 year old class or Jr. Hockey will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The 9-13 year old class or Sr. Hockey will be held 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Street Hockey will end with a one day tournament that will be held on August 10th for Jr. Hockey and August 11th for Sr. Hockey at Seaman’s Neck Park in Seaford. Children participating in the tournament must pay a uniform fee of $15. This includes a team t-shirt.

Tennis is open to children ages 10-15. Participants must bring their own racket. Tennis is held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45 to 3:45pm. There are no fees for Tennis.

Special events will take place on Fridays. Events include water slide, Halloween, tye dye, and more. Please check the special events calendar for dates and times.

Archery and Arts & Crafts have limited spaces and usually close out on the first day of registration. All other programs are not limited in number of participants. All fees must be paid at the time of registration with cash only.
