SUV Careens Off Southern State Parkway; Baby Among 6 Hurt

NORTH BELLMORE, NY – Six people, including a baby, were injured when an SUV careened off the Southern State Parkway into a pickup truck and a parked vehicle on another road, police said.
The crash, which was caught on surveillance video, occurred around 10:45 a.m. According to New York State Police, the SUV was heading westbound on the parkway in North Bellmore when it left the roadway onto Old Britton Road. A pickup truck strikes the SUV, which then rolls over a parked vehicle before coming to rest on a front lawn, video shows.
All four people inside the SUV were injured. One person was seriously injured. Two adults and an infant were also hurt, but police did not classify their injuries as serious.

The two people in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. Police did not release any names. No criminal charges have been filed.
