5. MAMS Students Raise Money For Typhoon Victims: Merrick Avenue Middle School  students raised more than $300 for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines

4. Stephanie Hammerman Visits CrossFit Invasion: Stephanie Hammerman, the world's first CrossFit trainer with Cerebal Palsy, taught a successful workshop at  CrossFit Invasion in Bellmore. 

3. Former Bellmore Resident to be Honored by Cancer Organization: Howard Kaden, a former Bellmore resident, was given the Courage Award during the Voices Against Brain Cancer'sThird Annual Join the Voices Run/Walk in November. Kaden was diagnosed with brain cancer in September. 

2 . Bellmore Man Wins $1,000,000 in Lottery Scratch Off Game: Andrew Roland, 28, of Bellmore, won $1,000,000 from 20X the Cash scratch-off game

1. North Bellmore Boy Recognized For Saving a Life: David Collins, 12, received the New York State Senate Liberty Medal,  one of the highest civilian honors, after he saved a boy from drowning.
