BELLMORE, NY — Three students from Grand Avenue Middle School advanced in the annual Tri-County Science and Technology Fair, held virtually this year.

"This competition is similar to the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair for students of Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties," science teacher and adviser Tami Cruz said in a statement provided by the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District. "However, some schools from Nassau and Suffolk counties were allowed to participate."

For students in grades 6 and 7 to join the fair, they must perform a scientific investigation under the guidance of their teachers.
