Airborne Envoy Causes Crash On The Saw Mill Parkway
Two people were injured, the road was closed for an hour, and the Envoy's driver was charged with drunken driving.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — Westchester County police charged a Carmel man with driving while intoxicated on Thursday following a head-on collision that closed the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua. The incident occurred at 2:41 p.m. when a GMC Envoy traveling southbound on the Saw Mill in the vicinity of Route 120 struck a guard rail, went airborne and entered the northbound lanes of travel.
The Envoy then collided head-on with a Subaru Outback.
Westchester County police responded to the scene as did the Chappaqua and Pleasantville volunteer ambulance corps. The northbound lanes of travel were shut down for more than an hour.

The driver of the Envoy is identified as Martin Goudie, 54, of Gleneida Ridge, Carmel, New York.
Officers investigating the accident said they detected an odor of alcohol on his breath and also observed multiple empty beer cans around the driver’s seat and front passenger seat of his car. They also found several small plastic bags in the vehicle containing a small amount of a powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

Goudie was transported by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where he was admitted due to injuries he suffered in the collision. Officers charged him with Driving While Intoxicated and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, misdemeanors. He was issued appearance tickets requiring him to answer the charges in New Castle Town Court on Nov. 21.
The driver of the Outback also suffered injuries and was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco, where she was treated and released. She is identified as Whitney Hill, 43, of Harris Road, Katonah.
Both drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles, police said.
