Free Outdoor Concerts Return to Mt. Kisco And Chappaqua

What did you miss most about summer days before the world started to shrink around us? Bands playing music in gazebos is the right answer.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — Last summer's new normal didn't come with free concerts in the park— this summer is getting back to the much preferable "old normal," which includes live music, ice cream trucks and adult beverages from Quaker Hill Tavern.

The New Castle Recreation and Parks Summer Concert Series is returning to the Recreation Field Gazebo next to Town Hall. The free performances will take place every Wednesday in July.

The season kicks off with Bruce Springsteen tribute band Tramps Like Us on Wednesday. It is a well-known fact that it is nearly impossible not to dance when listening to Bruce Springsteen songs outdoors surrounded by friends and neighbors.

Other free concerts this month include:

  • FDR Drive takes the stage on July 14.
  • The act for July 21 remains a mystery. Perhaps by design or else by necessity.
  • Station Agents will wrap up the monthlong series on July 28.

All shows start at 7 p.m.

In case of rain, concerts may be relocated to the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center (even if the show is indoors, it will still be difficult not to dance during the "Born to Run" encore).

Mount Kisco

Meanwhile, Mount Kisco will also be hosting free live music of its own in Leonard Park. The summer lineup includes:

  • Jordeli Entertainment on July 8
  • Brace For Impact on July 22
  • First Class Band on August 5

All shows will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the lawn next to the pool complex. In the event of rain, the concerts will move to the nearby Pieragostini Multi-Purpose Room.
