Author Allison Pataki Speaks to DAR Members
New York Times bestselling author Allison Pataki spoke to members and guests of the Polly Cooper Chapter at the historic Mandeville House.

From the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Polly Cooper Chapter: New York Times best selling author Allison Pataki spoke to members and guests of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR at the historic Mandeville House in Garrison, New York The talk was on Pataki’s first book, The Traitor’s Wife.
The historical fiction novel tells the story of the love triangle between Peggy Shippen, Benedict Arnold, and Major André during a pivotal point in the American Revolution. The setting was ideal; located across the river from West Point, the Mandeville house was used as headquarters during the American Revolution by Major General Israel Putnam and on at least two occasions General George Washington stayed and planned strategy there with General Putnam, Marquis de Lafayette, and other commanders.

The audience, as descendants of patriots of the American Revolution, was also ideal According to Pataki, it was “a true pleasure and privilege to be able to meet and speak with the Daughters of the American Revolution in such a special and historic place this weekend.” Scattered Books, an independent bookstore located in Chappaqua, New York traveled to the Mandeville House at the request of the Polly Cooper Chapter to supply books onsite, including Pataki’s latest novel, Where the Light Falls, which was written with her brother, Owen Pataki and is about the French Revolution.
