MOUNT KISCO, NY — The big weather news is the deep cold, as temperatures will stay below freezing and the wind chill factor will give it that extra arctic feel. A man froze to death in the Hudson Valley Thursday after his car got stuck and he fell near his house after dark.
But will the Hudson Valley see any snow this weekend? Meteorologists don't think so.
Hudson Valley Weather says frigid bluster will help the Hudson Valley escape the storm bringing snow to the East Coast this weekend. The cold air will break up the storm from the north so even if it regroups Sunday it should just affect the southern section of the Middle Atlantic states.

The National Weather Service agrees with HVW, predicting the best chances for any snow will be across portions of Long Island, New York City, and northeast New Jersey, although any accumulations will remain less than half an inch.
However, the NWS and AccuWeather do hedge their bets, saying a slight chance of light snow is possible in the lower Hudson Valley. The bigger story, AccuWeather says, could be slippery travel and delays due to the storm to our south.

For us, the big story is cold. Temperatures will stay at or below freezing both Friday and
Saturday, which is about 5-10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
Gusty northwest winds will make it feel even colder, with wind chill values generally remaining in the teens. As winds gradually diminish Friday night, lows will fall to around 10 degrees in some outlying areas, with temperatures in the mid teens to around 20 elsewhere.
"One thing is for sure, it will feel like winter over the next 5 days," said Hudson Valley Weather.
