WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — There are a lot of activities to choose from this weekend in Westchester County Parks. You could take a walk, look for birds and wildflowers, practice using a compass, learn about coyotes, volunteer and more. Check out this week's list.

Saturday, May 6
Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Routes 35 and 121 South,

Annual Bird Walk with Ed Kanze – 8 a.m.
Join naturalist and expert birder Ed Kanze for an early morning bird walk through the reservation.

Cranberry Lake Preserve, Old Orchard Street, North White Plains – (914) 428-1005
Bird Walk – 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Join avid birder Mike Bochnik from Hudson River Audubon Society in search for all the birds that live around the lake.

Wildflower Walk – Noon – 2 p.m.
Join master gardener Mary Harrington to identify and learn about the wildflowers that inhabit the reserve.

Hike around the Farm – 10 a.m. - noon
Ever want to see more of Muscoot? Join this intermediate hike through the farm’s outback. Meet at the reception center.

Volunteer Corps Work Day – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Help with invasive plant removal, trail work, beach clean-up, and more. Weather permitting.

Volunteer Work Project: Spreading Wood Chips on the Hiking Trails – 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Bring work gloves; hand tools provided. Great for any type of service credit hours.

Orienteering – 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Learn how to use a compass to find your way along the landscape using a checklist and questions along a planned route.

Spring Warbler Migration Hike – 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Bring binoculars to observe the morning movements of these speedy migrants.

One with the Clay Make ‘n’ Take – 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Learn how to make several styles of clay pots and take one home with you.

Bronx River Parkway, White Plains to Scarsdale
Bicycle Sundays – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Parkway closes to vehicular traffic for the exclusive use of cyclists, walkers, joggers and those with strollers, from the Westchester County Center to Scarsdale Road, a 13.5-mile loop. Parking at the County Center. Every Sunday during May and June with the exception of Memorial Day weekend.
