Byram Hills School District Public Budget Hearing Tuesday

Voters will have their say on the district's planned $95,243,544 spending package for 2021-22 May 18, when the budget is on the ballot.

ARMONK, NY — The final public hearing on the proposed 2021-22 budget for the Byram Hills School District will be held May 4 at 7:30 pm in the boardroom of the Byram Hills School District offices located at 10 Tripp Lane in Armonk.

The meeting will detail the spending plan for the upcoming school year. The proposed budget is $95,243,544, with a 0.75 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package.

School officials said the tax levy will increase by 1 percent if the budget is approved by voters later this month. The school system touts this increase as being among the lowest in the region.

According to the district, the spending plan will allow for no reductions in staffing, athletic programs or extracurricular activities.

There are also a total of two school board seats to be filled for three-year terms. The seats are currently held by Scott Levy and Michael Sanders.

The annual budget vote and board election will be from 6:30a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 18, at Crittenden Middle School.
